Women in Math

AWM Student Chapter at the University of Maryland

Women in Math (WIM) is an organization at the University of Maryland College Park (UMCP). WIM is dedicated to serving the needs of women mathematicians at UMCP. Our specific organizational goals include:

  1. Promoting the inclusion of women and non-binary people in mathematics at both the undergraduate and graduate level,
  2. Acting as an ally for underrepresented groups in mathematics more generally,
  3. Running events centered upon:
    1. Raising awareness of and bringing inspiring stories of women and non-binary people in mathematics,
    2. Providing social spaces for women and non-binary people in mathematics,
    3. Engaging in professional development events for the UMD Mathematics community.
